In a continuation of the long list of criminal acts that they have committed against the people of Sudan since the start of this war, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) Military Intelligence and its terror-driven patrons from the former regime have intentionally destroyed the largest oil wells in Zarqa Um Hadid in East Darfur State. This heinous act of sabotage was aimed at destabilizing the region, halting production, and causing severe infrastructural damage.

In response, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) East Darfur State Sector apprehended an individual who was involved in the incident and confessed to having been tasked alongside others with fulfilling the mission of setting fire to the wells.

In parallel to this crime, the opposing forces launched an attack on the al-Alaifon petrol station east of the capital, Khartoum, which led to a partial fire at the station. This incident was preceded by multiple aerial bombings targeting the Gaili Oil Refinery.

The continued bombing and destruction of strategic sites and infrastructure built through the toil and sacrifice of our people by the SAF and its terrorist allies from the former regime highlights their scorched-earth policy aimed at obliterating the people’s only remaining resources.

Their persistent and ruthless aggression against the people of Sudan is epitomized by their brutal acts against innocent civilians, involving slaughter, mutilation, and the destruction of national resources. Despite this, the SAF and its jihadist allies from the former regime continue to show only cowardice on the battlefield in the face of our valiant soldiers, fleeing in defeat and disgrace.

The RSF remains steadfast in its promise to safeguard the interests of the Sudanese people. We are resolute in our mission to apprehend and prosecute those individuals from the former regime who are responsible for these egregious offenses. Together with the honorable people of Sudan, we will forge a renewed nation, grounded in the principles of justice and democracy, and a unified national army dedicated solely to upholding their dignity and aspirations for freedom.
